What’s your favorite book? Is it the one you’re reading now? Are you unsure what to read next? The Monday Evening Book Club is an opportunity for students to share and listen to others share and critique the books they are reading –or rather experiencing! It’s also an opportunity to share students’ own written stories in a comfortable setting. The club, beyond book discussions, will endeavor to agree for all members to read a chosen book, and then talk about it. The club is for anyone who likes to read.

The Engineering Club is for students that have an interest in the fields of physics and mathematics. This club will look at issues in engineering today and tackle physics based situations that occur in the real world. The club will be placed into two teams a JV and Varsity, which will compete at the TEAMS competition in Lexington. TEAMS is a competition where students compete against other schools in their division on tests and experiments. The winner of this competition will receive scholarships to UK.
FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America)

An exciting organization which gives students the opportunity to become involved in school and also helps students become strong leaders in their families, careers and communities. We also have monthly chapter meetings to plan community service, fundraising and social activities. Members also have the opportunity to gain local, state and national recognition by competing in STAR events.
First Priority/FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes)

First Priority equips students to establish student-initiated, student-led Great Commission oriented campus clubs under the guidelines of the Equal Access Act. The purpose of these club meetings is accountability, outreach, and follow-up. FCA is an interdenominational, school-based Christian sports organization. It focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ.
The Forensics Club provides a forum for students interested in debate and public speaking. It also provides a perfect opportunity for students interested in fellowship through competition and competence in performing for an audience.

Health Occupation Students of America - HOSA

The purpose of HOSA is to enhance the delivery of compassionate, quality health care by providing opportunities for knowledge, skill and leadership development of all health occupation students, therefore, helping the students to meet the needs of the health care community. Students enrolled in Health Science classes may join. Membership dues are $15 per for state and national affiliation. Students are eligible for competition on the state and national levels. Membership also includes the HOSA magazine.

National Art Honor Society

NAHS was formed for the purpose of inspiring and recognizing those students who have shown an outstanding ability in art. It strives to aid members in working toward the attainment of their highest potential in art areas and to bring art education to the school and the community. Members must have an A/B average in all humanities classes.

NHS is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. Students in NHS have demonstrated excellence in the areas on scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Students must have a 3.65 weighted or a 3.55 un-weighted GPA to join.

The Pep Club seeks to inspire all students to catch the Redhound Spirit. It supports all sports and related activities.

The PRIDE club is a service-oriented club that gives students a chance to learn about the environment in fun ways, mentor younger students and perform community service. Each member will receive a T-shirt and will be expected to participate in at least one community cleanup activity.
Relay for Life Club
This club is composed of a very special group of caring students who want to encourage, support, assist in fundraising, prepare for the Relay for Life all night celebration in May, and spread awareness to the their school and community for those touched by cancer. The students have several fundraisers leading up to the Relay for Life all night celebration which is a 24 hour day event that helps raise money towards finding a cure for cancer.

Senior Science Club

Students who have taken two of the four AP science classes or made a distinguished on the CATS Assessment may substitute the CATS score for one of the two classes required. Students prepare during the year for a trip to New York or the Florida Keys to further their science knowledge and skills.

Skills USA is a national nonprofit student organization that serves students enrolled in career and technical education training programs. Skills USA’s mission is to empower its members to become world class workers and responsible American citizens. Skills USA complements technical skills training with instruction in the employability skills that make a well-rounded worker and citizen. Skills USA members compete in job skills competition at regional, state and national levels. Membership is $13.00.
The Foreign Language Club is for students interested in learning about other countries, and cultures. Members prepare for trips abroad by learning proper mannerisms in respect of others norms, by learning tolerance and understanding and by learning how to convert various currencies. The goal is for the classroom experience to come alive through student educational travel at home and abroad.

STLP is project-based learning program that empowers students in all grades to use technology to learn and achieve. Its mission is to advance individual student capabilities; to motivate all students and create leadership opportunities through the use of technology. A club for students identified in leadership. Community and school service are emphasized. Students from the Y Club are eligible to attend the Kentucky Youth Assembly and the Kentucky United Nations Assembly.
